Provide Frequent and Daily Counter-Balancing Activities to Your Child's "Screen Life" by Elayna

P.M.H. Atwater gave me this parenting tip in our correspondence.  She is the author of over twenty books, including Beyond the Indigo Children

We all know that today's children view the world through all types of screens - video screens, television screens, computer screens, cell phone screens. movie screens, and others. This means it is now more important than ever for parents to plan in time for "counter-balances." 

P.M.H. told me that a child who has good counter-balances will be able to handle high technology and still retain their health. and to have healthy relationships.  So it is critical to provide these types of activities frequently and daily.

Counter-balances are grounding activities and include outdoor and indoor physical activities, intuitive and imaginary activities, and other activities where the child is engaging with something or someone other than a screen.

Having a pet to care for
Cooking
Baking cookies
Doing dishes - the old-fashioned way
Housework
Going to the gym
Sports of any kind
Dancing
Playing in a band
Volunteering

I have personally noticed that over the past year (2009-2009) that my state of self-awareness and knowing has dramatically increased. Of course I have been steadily working on my inner aspect of self and "unloading" all of my human baggage or "sufferings". I think this overwhelming drive for inner balance is common to all Indigo persons right now.
 
This quest for inner balance and knowing or clarity is deafening for us right now. It's almost as though we don't have a choice in the matter. Something inside us just screams "heal and be free" and "remember, remember, remember who you really are!”  
 
I have also noticed the deep realization of exactly what I am to be doing with my life and what makes me happy and joyous. I am to coach and heal my planet and all of her inhabitants using Reiki, essential oils and crystals. So, that is now what I am doing, fulltime.
 
No, the path to here was not easy at all. It was however, in reflection, joyful in discovery and one hell of a roller coaster ride. My path to purpose has been filled with highs, lows, discovery, frustration, anger, sorrow and absolutely everything in between. You know what though? I wouldn't trade it for the world now that I have arrived here and now in this delicious space and moment.
 
What is in your now, you ask?  It's ease, joy and peace and NOW and that's all.  You see, when we Indigos or Crystals hit our stride of balance and knowing, we discover what we have been missing all along and that is NOW. I want you to sit back and breathe in deep and pay attention only to your breath and say, "In One". Now let go of the breath and say, "Out One". Repeat, "In Two, Out Two." Do this 9 more times for 9 more breaths.  How do you feel right now? Better, yes? Do you feel yummy and warm, "in sync"? This is the power of NOW, right NOW. It's all that really matters because you have already lived the past and hopefully learned your lessons from it and you haven't yet lived your future. So, all that is left is to pay attention to now.  Give it all of your focus and ENJOY it.
 
My advice to all of you out there who are still "noisy" and can't tune in to any one radio station is to stop resisting this all important inner work and start meditating. All you have to do is the breath counting and focus only on your breath for ten breaths once a day.  Learn to achieve QUIET so that you can hear yourself. Realize that everyone and everything else doesn't matter. Only your inner state matters right now because when you are in balance, so then, is the rest of your world. Only then can we bring forth our beautiful inner lights and let them influence everything and everyone around us. Our own inner work is now the most important thing we can do for ourselves, right now. Nothing else matters and everything else will wait. 
 
I have found many tools very helpful and beautiful along my path of Spiritual Awareness and attunement. One of them is Reiki or energy healing.  This method of healing brings your aura and chakras back into balance. It also helps you get past your past so that you may move forward in the now. Another tool of knowing that has deeply impacted me in the best way lately is a book called "Ask and It Is Given." Here is a link to look at that book on my site.
 
I have also found that walking or moving meditation really increases my vibration daily and allows me to have and hold more joy. Here is a link to the book, CD and DVD.
 
The other thing that I was guided to do was to watch what I eat. Cut out all processed foods and eat only organic and healthful food. A good rule of thumb is a favorite of mine from Jack Lalaine, "If man made it, don't eat it!" That makes selecting what to eat really easy and very true. If the food is naturally occurring in nature then it is good for Indigo and Crystal bodies. I also bless my food before eating by just saying, "May I get the highest good from this food". I then actually feel a vibrational difference in the food.
 
I have also been getting my physical body back into shape with meditative power, walking, Ashtanga Yoga and dance. I think Indigo people tend to be very intelligent, playful and wise, but one thing we forget about easily is that we have a body. Our bodies need to be cared for and respected. If our bodies are strong, then so, are our Spirits and minds. It is all a terrific balancing act and it takes paying attention and being "in the moment" to unravel it all and "get it".

All you have to do is STOP and then STOP RESISTING the shift and go with the flow of the Universe! It's easy, just listen, let go and flow!
