Welcome from Elayna Thank you for visiting. When I told people that I was starting this Elayna website to serve the needs of today's Indigo and Crystal children, some people lit up with knowing and were eager to hear more about it. More frequently, people wanted to know what and who I was talking about! Who are these children? How can I tell if my child is, or even if I myself am one of them? And why should I care? Elayna's purpose: In Service of the Children: Elayna's purpose is to help the Indigos and the Crystals and the Rainbows, and all other of these children, whatever they are called, to achieve their purpose. This website community is for everyone who wants to learn more about these new children, youth and adults, and to help them achieve their mission. I am and this site is in service of the children. And some of these children are not children anymore! This is new terrain for all of us, not only the Indigos and Crystals and their parents, teachers, grandparents and their other caregivers and everyone else who loves them. This site’s mission is to help us all to navigate this new terrain. We need a place to ask questions, share what we learn, and support one another. I enthusiastically welcome your input. I encourage you to email me with your thoughts, advice, corrections, questions, and referrals to additional resources. This is the easiest way to continue to stay informed and up to date, as well as to be reminded to respond to others’ posts if you have something to add. What is the Number of Indigos and Crystals? In The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Indigo Children, the authors, Wendy H. Chapman, Dir., MA in Ed. Psy., SRMT, and Carolyn Flynn, tell us, “Some experts estimate that more than 85 percent of the children born since 1992 and 95 percent or more of those born since 1999 are Indigos. (Wendy thinks this may be too high. More than likely the percentage is about 50 percent of elementary school age children.)” This book was published in 2007. Number of Crystals: The authors seem to agree that the Crystals started coming in greatly increasing numbers in about the mid-1990’s. Again, the belief of many is that they been coming here sporadically for eons, but just in greatly increasing numbers at this time. I have not found any data that states how many of these children are here now. From my reading, I would hazard a guess that the numbers of Crystals who will be in their twenties starting in about 2015 would be similar to the number of Indigos who are reaching their twenties in 2007. by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober, the authors quote Nancy Ann Tappe as saying, "My statement is that 90 percent of the children under ten are Indigos." This book was published in 1990, which would mean that Tappe would say that in 2007, generally 90% of the young adults who are now in their twenties are Indigo.
